Philip Morris Institute for Manufacturing Competences
The Philip Morris Institute for Manufacturing Competences (IMC) is the Philip Morris Group’s center of excellence for advanced training and skills development in Industry 4.0.
It was inaugurated in June 2022 within the company’s manufacturing hub in Crespellano (Bologna, Italy).
Dedicated to developing the industrial skills of the future, the IMC serves as a national reference point in Italy for continuous training and technology transfer, fostering the growth of capabilities essential to tomorrow’s manufacturing professions.
IMC’s activities are aimed not only at people working across Philip Morris’s international affiliates and supply chain, but also at the wider economic, entrepreneurial, and educational ecosystem – both locally and nationally.
The center’s initiatives focus on three key areas for Industry 4.0:
- Training and professional development
- Technology transfer and open innovation
- Applied research and university–industry collaboration
