The Operational Co-Pilot: Performance and On-the-Job Qualification Support
The Current Challenge
Current skills verification processes require time-consuming manual interviews by supervisors. When problems arise in production, operators waste valuable time navigating complex repositories to find procedures that may be in different languages, unclear, or incomplete. Additionally, the tacit knowledge of experienced operators remains undocumented, creating a critical gap when these people are unavailable or leave the company.
What we are looking for
We are seeking innovative solutions that radically transform three critical areas. Proposed solutions can address one or more of the following points:
1. Smart Health Check System – We want to make this process a positive experience for everyone involved. A system that semi-automates competency assessments through intelligent interaction analysis, supports the completion of evaluation forms, and makes the entire process engaging through gamification dynamics.
2. Intelligent Problem Resolution Assistant – We want to eliminate downtime in searching for the correct procedures and ensure that every operator, regardless of their experience or language, can understand and follow the necessary instructions when needed.
3. Collaborative Knowledge Platform – We want to transform tacit experience into structured knowledge and incentivize operators to actively contribute to continuous procedure improvement in a simple and immediate way, through recognition mechanisms and gamification.
Areas of Interest
– Automated Skills Assessment & Gamified Health Checks: Solutions that reduce the time needed to conduct skills assessments by automating the most repetitive and time-consuming parts of the process while preserving and enhancing human interaction between assessor and assessed. The system must support (not replace) the supervisor, allowing them to focus on qualitative dialogue while administrative tasks are handled automatically. Skills certification must become a continuous and objective process rather than episodic and subjective. Transform verification from a bureaucratic obligation into a moment of growth and recognition, creating engagement through motivation mechanisms. Possible approaches include: conversational analysis for automatic transcription and interview synthesis, adaptive quizzes, gamification with points and badges, peer assessment, work observation systems, progressive certifications.
– Smart Troubleshooting & Contextual Guidance: AI-powered platforms that assist workers in the problem identification process, suggest the correct procedure, and present it in an immediately understandable and actionable format, regardless of the operator’s language or experience level.
– Knowledge Capture & Community Recognition: Systems that automatically capture best practices during daily operations and interactions with operators, transforming them into structured procedures. Collaborative platforms where operators can easily suggest improvements, document solutions, and share trade secrets. Gamification and recognition system (contributor badges, innovation points, monthly champions) that rewards those who actively contribute to procedure improvement and knowledge sharing, creating a bottom-up continuous improvement culture.
